I really enjoyed Tuck Everlasting and I thought this book went well for me. My reading went good and I understood what I was reading and showed it in the in class questions. For the in class question I did very well on most of all the questions but still improving on the detailed questions. The Blog also went well I was good on the out of the spotlight writing on the blog and the figurative language also was good on the blog. I participated in the discussions in class. Me and Ian worked on a special tuck character project and I is very good. And My figurative language podcast also was good.
This unit is about practicing being the leader. We led duccissions on our class blog at home and we also led a small group duccission at school. For each story we would write a summary and a introduction for the section. We also every new section we would comment on the blog on the other peoples discussions. We also tweeted on twiducate on each small group disscussion. At the end of the unit all of us wrote a new section for rainbow people envolving the stories that shirley remembered from her grandfather and stories from rainbow people that you think would have helped shirley. My section was called believe it was all about believeing in your self and others. The stories in my section were Child of Calamity, The Homecoming, Wispy Whiskers, The Fitial Daughter, Breakers Bridge and Butterfly Man. I thought I did well on the book Rainbow People.
In The Year of The Boar and Jackie Robinson
I think that I did well on most of the quizzes. When I got a question wrong it was usually a question where I had to be very specific. My Reflections were pretty accurate but were very short and not very descriptive. On the classmates review I got mostly 3 and 4 on the first one and the same on the second. I thought I participated well in the group discussions even though we talked over each other. I think that I have improved a lot since the beginning of the year. You can even see it through the eportfolio posts they have gotten alot better recently.
I liked listing to speeches or this I believe statements better than reading a book. I liked it better because when it came to writing my essay I had a lot of good ideas. I also liked the fact that I can talk as me and I know more about me than anyonelse does. And we had more freedom to do anything that you believe in. I believe in Saturdays and this is my essay.
Maniac Magee
Our third book we read is Maniac Magee. I did well mostly on the assignments where you have to think about a big idea. I understood what figurative language is and the two types of figurative language. I thought that I did good on point of view. I kinda understood the conversations. I mean I did pretty well but it could have been more clearer to me. Infer ing kid a just comes tome I can infer well and that is something I am not worrying about. My best assignment is by a little bit is my essay. It could have a little more background knowledge but it was really good. Click below to listen to it.
Family is where you can be you and your family is ok with that and they love you for that. My family has my mom, dad and my pets. The book I will be talking about is Maniac Magee. Family is a big idea in the book. One of the main characters is Maniac Magee; he lives with two families the Mc Nabs and the Beals. Maniac might think that family is just the people you are related to. This is because he started with his Aunt and Uncle who hated each other and would never talk to each other.
The Beals are a good family they except Maniac. He had made friends with this girl amanda who found him being bullied by Mars Bar. She then swooped in and said back off Mars and he stopped. He didn't have a home so Amanda took him to her house. Maniac was like an angel to the Beals always helping out. The Beals were really nice to Maniac also. They even bought him new shoes and gave him a room. But Maniac thought he was causing trouble for them and he left. I think this describes how real families are. Because all families are different. We learn that families forgive you for the mistakes you make you do not have to leave. But the most important thing is he really has a family now.
The Mc Nabs are the not so good family. John Mc Nab was the one who introduced him to his family. There house was disgusting roaches everywhere and a dog relieved himself when he walked in. But nothing is as bad as their father. He bursts in with a burger king and throws it. He even doesn't even notice his own kids or Maniac. And Maniac stayed there for a while instead of going back to the Beals. This is related to the big idea because this is another example of a family. I think that we learn that you need good parents to have a good or bad family.
I think that Maniac has a family not the Mc Nabs but the Beals they love him and they are his real family. He has changed his idea of family to that it's the people in the family that make the family good or bad. I think we can say that there are millions of different families in the world. Also that Maniac finally has a real family.
Hatchet
The next book I read was Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. I think my best work was my essay. But it could have been better if i remembered to put a topic sentence on some of the paragraphs. I think my least sucessful assignment was my letter. It was pretty good but it could have been alot better. It could have been better by having more about how my character feels.I thought thet i read carfully, thought about idea s when reading, understood what I was reading and remembered it well. To have more quality work I will add more explation. To improve habiats I will not be silly in my group! I think that my group got stuff done but we argued alot and were loud.
The first book we read in fith grade was Island of The Blue Dolphins. was reading and rememberingI think my Glog was my best assignment. I think this because it had good solid info and it could have been better by just taking more notes. My least
sucsessful assignment was my two webs. The decoration was great but, the info was not at its best. I could have made it bettter by thinking through this assignment see progress in my ability to make infrences.

This I Believe
